Summer Fun!!

Beach themed parties are great for young and old and the best part is you don't need to be anywhere near a beach!!

Follow these great ideas to create a beach theme party at home:
  • Play summer music (e.g., Beach Boys)
  • Hang bathing suits of many different colors on a line strung outdoors
  • Fill your beach birthday party area with beach umbrellas and chairs
  • Organize a fire pit for your mini bonfire
  • Have diving masks, flippers, and beach inflatables in the area including balls, rings etc
  • Fill a plastic pool with ice and soft drinks
  • Hang fishnets on the fence
  • Colourful beach towels make great party tablecloths
  • For the centerpiece, use a sand bucket, shovel, and sea shells

Shaken not Stirred

Looking for an idea for a themed birthday party? Why not follow in the footsteps of Goldfinger and have a James Bond themed party. 007 Invitations can be personalised and ordered online from Paper Divas.

Inspiration:
Guests can come dressed in Black Tie - with the hidden gun holster of course!
Treat your guests to Martinis - James Bond style - "Shaken not Stirred"

Martini Recipe (serves 6):

• 1/2 cup ice cubes
• 375ml (1 1/2 cups) good-quality vodka, chilled
• 125ml (1/2 cup) dry vermouth
• 6 Sicilian green olives, rinsed

Method

1. Place the ice in a chilled cocktail shaker. Add the vodka and shake until well combined.
2. Pour 1 tablespoon of vermouth into 1 chilled martini glass. Swirl vermouth around the glass to coat the side. Place 1 olive in the glass. Repeat with the remaining vermouth and olives.
3. Strain the vodka into the glasses and serve immediately.
